Community activities

We are committed to making a positive impact to society. Our staff get involved in a broad range of activities within local and regional communities, including:

  • Participation in company-organised environmental or conservation programmes.
  • Volunteering for recognised charity-sponsored projects or programmes.
  • Public Service training or public service duties.

We have several initiatives running across the world in which many thousands of our staff have participated. Some of these include:

Europe

We have carried out activities with a variety of organisations, from nature reserves and wildlife parks to community allotments and children charities, some of whom we have been working with for over 10 years.

Under our company policy, staff are also allocated volunteering days each year in order to support relevant causes within their local communities.

Over the last 12 years we have also participated in Race for Life, a charity run which takes place across the UK to raise money for Cancer Research UK. These events are well attended by our staff and we have raised over £40,000 so far.

North America

In November 2019 we teamed up with the Climate Reality Project as part of their "24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action", which aims to mobilise a worldwide conversation about the climate crisis. Over the course of 24 hours, we hosted 11 events across our facilities, where Climate Reality Leaders shared their expertise with staff on what climate change means for our lives, and what we can do to solve it.

Asia

We have participated in many activities including the Hong Kong & Kowloon Walk for Millions, clothes recycling programmes and the Global Game Jam — a worldwide event that we sponsored in 2013 to enable game developers across the world to develop games simultaneously and collaboratively.

In Japan, we have developed classes on the video game industry for elementary, junior and high school students, which we deliver pro bono across the country.
