    Who is Laufey?

    Guardian of the Jötnar, rebel leader against the oppressive Aesir gods, and lone protector of the Wildwoods – Laufey is a warrior whose battle prowess was legendary even among the Giants. 

    Faye's story begins after the pivotal moment of her death, just as Kratos and Atreus begin their journey to scatter her ashes at the highest peak in all the realms. After awakening unexpectedly in a mysterious new place, Faye discovers she has arrived in the Everywhen – the afterlife of the gods. She learns the plans set in place to protect her family are at risk and will do whatever it takes to find her way home.

    On her journey, Faye is joined by two powerful companions: Rue and Phranque.

    Rue is a set of enchanted ribbons which serve as the guardian of Faye's sword. Tasked with keeping its immense power from falling into the wrong hands, Rue's heavy responsibility makes her both fiercely protective and slow to trust.

    Phranque is a determined cosmic cube with deep ties to the Everywhen. As conflict seeps throughout the afterlife of the gods, Phranque is committed to protecting his home and the many creatures that reside there from further harm.

    No, God of War Laufey can be enjoyed completely standalone.  Though to fully appreciate the world and characters, players should play both God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök – both of which are available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, and on PC.

    Both games in God of War's Norse saga, including God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök, are available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. From their first journey spreading Faye's ashes after her death to the apocalyptic coming of Ragnarök, the Norse saga follows Kratos and Atreus as they face the dangers of the Nine Realms together.  

    Experience a tale of duty, honour and brotherhood set during Kratos' youth in God of War Sons of Sparta. This retro-inspired 2D action-adventure is available on PlayStation 5 consoles.
