We’ve updated Our Terms of Service

We want to let you know that we’ve updated the PlayStation Terms of Service (“Agreement”) to improve your user experience. These updates are effective immediately/from 23 April 2026. By continuing to use PlayStation Online Services, you accept the updated Agreement.

What’s changed?

We have made several updates to the Agreement. Here’s a summary of the most important changes: 

  • Updated name of the Agreement and related references – throughout  
  • Updated references to address service branding update – throughout
  • Updated and clarified the Code of Conduct.
  • Updated defined words and phrases – Section 3
  • Added eligibility requirements for creating an Account, including age requirements and Responsible Adult consent for Child Family Member Accounts – Section 4.
  • Updated the actions we may take if you breach the terms of the Agreement, including suspension of your Account and access to PlayStation Online Services – Section 5.
  • Updated requirements to provide accurate and complete personal information when creating and maintaining your Account – Section 6.1.
  • Updated list of additional terms that apply when using PlayStation Online Services, including PlayStation Code of Conduct, PlayStation Plus Usage Terms, PlayStation Software Application End User License Agreement and PlayStation Physical Goods Terms of Purchase – Section 7.
  • Updated how we monitor activity on PlayStation Online Services and enforce the terms of the Agreement, including the use of automated tools to detect harmful or illegal content and the process for appealing moderation decisions – Section 11.
  • Updated terms relating to purchases, subscriptions and cancellation rights for Digital Products and physical items – Sections 12, 14 and 18.
  • Updated actions we may take if user-generated content (UGC) breaches the terms of the Agreement – Section 19.

While we have listed out the key changes in the summary above, you should carefully review the revised Agreement in its entirety so that you understand all the changes.

We want to let you know that we’ve updated our PSN Terms of Service and User Agreement (“Agreement”) to improve your user experience. These updates are effective immediately / from 14 December 2023. By continuing to use the PSN, you accept the updated Agreement.

What’s changed?

We have made several updates to the Agreement. Here’s a summary of the most important changes:
 

  • Updated requirements to provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your account – Sections 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4.
  • Updated the definition of “Authorised Systems” – Section 7.
  • Clarified terms of access to Products, content or services offered by publishers or entities other than us – Section 8.3.
  • Updated steps you should take to safeguard your account and our account security settings to prevent unauthorised payment transactions – Sections 9.3 and 9.5.
  • Updated requirements to explain the Agreement to Child Family Members – Section 10.4.2.
  • Updated actions we may take if we believe that your Child may be in distress, including directing you to third party services for assistance – Section 13.4.
  • Clarified information and processes relating to your cancellation rights upon purchasing any Product – Sections 15.2.1 and 16.2.
  • Updated restrictions on the use of viruses, spyware or automated software (such as bots or scripts) – Section 20.3.
  • Updated the definition of “Virtual Items” and restrictions on the use, collection and transfer of Virtual Items – Section 20.16 to 20.18.
  • Updated policies in relation to our conduct of sales offers and promotions, which may be subject to additional terms and conditions – Section 20.19.
  • Updated actions we may take if we have evidence to conclude or reasonably believe that you have violated the terms of the Agreement or if your account has been compromised – Sections 5, 24.1.2, 24.3 and 24.4.
  • (For consumers based in New Zealand and who are acquiring any Products in trade) Clarified applicability of relevant legislation – Section 25.5.4.
  • (For consumers based in New Zealand) Updated notice setting out your consumer rights and remedies under New Zealand laws – Section 32.2.
