FORMULA ONE 04 continues to refine the Grand Prix experience. It's the only FORMULA ONE game and still totally exclusive to PlayStation 2. With circuits including the new Bahrain and China tracks, the latest cars, up-to-date driver rosters and a host of new gameplay modes and features, including a Career mode and historic cars.
FORMULA ONE 04's new Career mode brings the total number of single-player modes up to a whopping nine, including new Rookie mode introduced to help drivers find the optimum racing line and understand the basics of car control.
You'll play as a (fully customisable) driver embarking on a career in the thrilling world of FORMULA ONE racing. Along the way, you'll be able to move teams between seasons, get promoted, demoted or fired depending on your performances and generally get involved in every aspect of a typical FORMULA ONE driver's professional life.
You'll be able to keep track of your virtual racing life thanks to a 'home' screen that gives you access to a full communication system, complete with emails, faxes, internet news pages and newspapers.
You'll also be able to peruse your career statistics with the in-depth player history, check out the reputation of the 20 official drivers (which changes based on their performance throughout the seasons), and check the calendar for important dates.
On the track, a number of improvements have been made, including accurate weather for each circuit based on the time of year. In addition, consistently perform well and you'll be rewarded with historical cars, including the Lotus 72E and Jordan 191 (Michael Schumacher's first car).
Chat with fellow racers in the lobby area and organise your own public or private Time Attack sessions.
