The twisted imaginings of the author H.P. Lovecraft have been the influence for a myriad of films (such as Reanimator and Evil Dead), but his icy touch is yet to be felt on PlayStation 2... Until now.

In the roaring '20s, police detective Jack Walters encounters dark things that man was not meant to know, the terror breaking his sanity. Suffering from acute amnesia and schizophrenia, Jack is committed for several years& Now a private detective, Jack is drawn into a case involving rumours of strange creatures, unholy rituals and several disappearances from a coastal town called Innsmouth.

This ultra-creepy, first-person descent into madness and evil does its very best to weird you out and scare the living daylights out of you. A dynamic sanity system means that as Jack goes slowly insane he cannot comprehend the things he is seeing; you feel the effects - hallucinations, panic attacks, vertigo and paranoia.

As you explore the detailed, shadowy town of Innsmouth, you'll need to use you brains as well as your bullets and brawn if you hope to survive your ordeal. Challenging puzzles utilising 1920 technology and artifacts from an ancient cult keep you occupied but keep checking over your shoulder as intelligent and deadly enemies may be slithering, lumbering or quivering up behind you. The stuff of nightmares is now on PlayStation 2.
