Want a space where you can talk with multiple players? Create a party and invite your friends to chat.
The initial party view allows you to send text messages and join voice chat. To send captures and other types of messages, select ... More and then select View Party.
(A) Chat history
See messages, captures, game invites and more that players in your party have sent.
Use the on-screen or an external keyboard to type your message.
Screenshots and Video Clips
Share your screenshots and video clips (up to 3 minutes) with the party.
Give your message more personality by sending a sticker.
Record a short voice message for your party to hear. The maximum length for your voice messages is 15 seconds.
(B) Party features
Start or join a voice chat where you can share your screen and use Share Play. When you're already in a voice chat with the party, you can access its card from here.
Invite to Game
Invite all party members to your current game or start a new game.
Add players to your party.
View all the screenshots and video clips sent by members in your party.
Add to Favourites
Add a party to your favourites. Your favourite parties appear first in Game Base.
Turn notifications on or off for the party.
You can change the party name and image. This option is available only for parties with three or more members.
If you see an offensive party name or party image, you can submit a report.
If you leave the party, you won't be able to see its messages anymore.
(C) Members list
Party members are listed in order of online availability. Select a member to view their profile
If someone in your party starts a voice chat, a notification appears in the top-right corner of the screen. To join it, press the PS button and then select Join.
You can also share your games with members of your party through Share Screen and Share Play.
Press the PS button and select the voice chat card from the control centre to manage your ongoing voice chat:
(A) Type of voice chat
See what type of voice chat you're currently using. Voice chat started in Game Base is called party voice chat. An in-game voice chat is called game voice chat.
(B) Switch between Party and Game voice chats
You can browse through the ongoing voice chats that you're a part of. Select a chat and select Switch to start chatting.
(C) Party voice chat features
Start Share Screen
Share your game screen to all PS5 members in the voice chat. You can also start Share Play to let another player try the game you're playing or to help you out.
Invite to Game
Invite members in the party voice chat to your current game session or start a new one together.
Adjust the audio balance between the voice chat and other audio on your console.
Leave Voice Chat
You can leave the current party voice chat that you are a part of.
Not only will you add players to the voice chat, they'll be added to the party too. The maximum number of players that can be in a party voice chat is 16.
Mute Voice Chat
Adjust your microphone level or allow your voice to be used in other players' broadcasts and video clips.
Convert the voices of other players to text, and read aloud text you enter to other players.
If you have an issue with something that was said in the voice chat by a member, you can submit a report.
View the details of your party in Game Base.
(D) Member List
Select a member to mute them, view their profile or perform other actions.
Please note that this feature affects only how you hear other players. It doesn't affect how other players hear you.
