Adjusting the input and output volumes on a headset for the PlayStation 3

Find out how to adjust the input and output volume on your headset when using the PlayStation 3.

 
 

You can adjust the headset volume as follows:

  1. Ensure that the headset is registered as an audio input device on the PlayStation 3 system by accessing the XMB Menu, choosing [  Settings] > [Accessory Settings]> [Audio Device Settings]> [Input Device] and selecting your headset from the list displayed.
  2. A [Microphone Level] number will be displayed. Highlight it and press the  button, then press the [UP] button and the [DOWN] button to adjust the audio input volume. When you are happy with the audio level, press the  button to confirm.
  3. If you also intend to use the headset to output audio, ensure that it is registered as an audio output device on the PlayStation 3 system by accessing the XMB Menu, choosing [  Settings] > [Accessory Settings] > [Audio Device Settings] > [Output Device] and selecting your headset from the list.
  4. A [Microphone Level] number will be displayed. Highlight it and press the  button, then press the [UP] button and the [DOWN] button to adjust the audio output volume. When you are happy with the audio level, press the  button to confirm.
