Puzzles on your PSP - Capcom-style

A selection of Capcom puzzle classics, crammed onto one UMD - it's as good in practice as it sounds in theory.

The Japanese publisher Capcom, most famous for its Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series, has a huge variety of classic games tucked away in the annals of its long history. With Capcom Puzzle World, the company has packaged five of them onto one UMD: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Block Block, and the three Buster Bros games. Here's a look at what to expect:

    Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

There haven't been many opportunities to play Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo since its launch on PS one, which is a shame because it's an absolutely brilliant puzzle game - especially with two players. As such, its inclusion here is perhaps the main reason to pick up Capcom Puzzle World, since it's as addictive now as it ever was. Building up huge gems before unleashing a huge attack on your opponent's playing field offers moments of satisfaction that few rivals can match.

    Buster Bros

Buster Bros., Super Buster Bros. and Buster Buddies are the international name for what was known as Pang when it was originally released in European arcades. Each game features a series of levels in which players must burst deadly bubbles bouncing around the screen. As large bubbles are burst, they split into smaller ones, introducing plenty of Asteroids-style strategy - do you try and obliterate everything as quickly as possible, or methodically pick off the dangerous small bubbles? However you play, all the Buster Bros. games are as playable as ever.

    Block Block

A bat and ball game, where you break down walls by striking the ball against them, Block Block will be appreciated by anyone who's spent time with the old arcade game Arkanoid. It's simple to pick up, but will keep you playing a long time thanks to some ingenious levels and twists on the basic formula.
