Deeper player pools, shorter queue times and more teams for your squad to square up against are now available in World of Chel with the arrival of cross-platform matchmaking for players on the same console generation.

With 500 new Last Chance Puck Movement animations, you can now control how a play unfolds after any level of contact is taken, from performing passes out of stumbles to desperation shots from the ice. Plus, overhauled strategy systems allow you to easily gameplan and finetune your playmaking skills.

You can now compose your Ultimate Team with a roster of the best players in the world with the introduction of mixed women’s and men’s teams.

Cross-platform matchmaking*

NHL 23 will allow for cross-platform matchmaking across same-generation consoles in HUT and World of Chel. This means shorter queue times and even more players for you and your crew to face off against.

X-Factor updates

NHL 23 features new X-Factors like Trevor Zegras' "Skilled Up", Sarah Nurse's "Relentless", and AI upgrades that help AI-controlled players utilise their X-Factors for more impactful and realistic contributions on the ice.

Last chance puck movement

New gameplay animations add a layer of authenticity and realism to NHL 23 by giving players more ways to make big plays after stumbling, spotting a loose puck and more.
