Saving and transferring PlayStation Now progress

How to download or upload a PlayStation Now game save.

PS Now game save data works differently depending on whether you are streaming or playing a downloaded game.

If you are streaming a PS Now game, the save data will be stored within the PS Now application. You can pick up your stream on another device and continue your game without taking any other steps.

If you are playing a downloaded PS Now game, the save data will be saved to PS4 system storage.

How do I manage PS Now game save data?

PS Plus online storage acts as a middle ground between the two save types. Game save data is not automatically transferred between streamed and downloaded games, so you will need to manually upload your save to continue. First upload the PS Now save to online storage:

  • Streamed PS Now game: start streaming the game > press the PS Button > [Application Saved Data Management] > [Saved Data on PS Now] > [Copy to Online Storage].
  • Downloaded PS Now game: highlight the application in [Library] > press the Options button > [Upload/Download Saved Data] > [Upload].

Once the PS Now save file is in online storage, you can simply download it from the cloud and carry on playing your PS Now game:

  • Streamed PS Now game: Start streaming the game > press the PS Button > [Application Saved Data Management] > [Saved Data in Online Storage] > [Copy to PS Now].
  • Downloaded PS Now game: highlight the application in [Library] > press the Options button > [Upload/Download Saved Data] > [Download].
