Setting up a wired internet connection on the PlayStation 3 using the [Easy] settings

If you would like to connect a PlayStation 3 to a Wired Network using the [Easy] settings, this article will take you through the necessary steps to do so.


Before you begin:

  • Ensure that the Ethernet cable is connected to the PlayStation 3 system.
  1. Access the XMB Menu and choose [Settings] > [Network Settings].
  1. Choose [Internet Connection] > [Enabled].
  2. Scroll down and select [Internet Connection Settings].
  1. When you are asked if it is okay to disconnect the PlayStation 3 system from the Internet, select [Yes].
  2. When you are asked to choose a setting method, select [Easy].
  3. The PlayStation 3 system will check the network connection settings.
  4. A list of settings will be displayed. Ensure that they are correct and press the [] button to save the settings.
  5. When you are asked to test the connection, press the [] button to confirm.
