How to set up 2-Step Verification for PlayStation Network log in

How do I set up 2-Step Verification?

Select a device below to set up 2-Step Verification.

  1. Go to  [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Security] > [2-Step Verification] > [Set Up Now].
  2. Carefully enter your mobile number and select [Add].
  3. You will receive a verification code by text — enter the code into the PS4 verification section to authorise your mobile number. Select [Activate] to switch on 2SV.
  4. Record your Backup Codes: [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Security] > [2-Step Verification] > [Backup Codes].
  1. Go to account management on a connected device.
  2. Next to 2-Step Verification, select [Edit] > [Activate] > [Continue].
  3. Enter a mobile number or select an existing one – you will be sent a 6 digit verification code.
  4. Enter the code and select [verify].
  5. Make a note of your Backup Codes –  shown below.

Make a note of your back up codes!

These codes can help you regain access to your account if you don't have your phone, or if you've changed your mobile number.

You can find your back up codes on PS4 or through account management on a web browser. To use a back up code, attempt to sign in as normal and enter one of your back up codes instead of the verification text message code.
