    Dawn of a new terror

Former Resident Evil protagonist Chris Redfield is your entry point into the sweltering African surroundings of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition on PlayStation 3. As the former Special Tactics And Rescue Service (STARS) now turned Bio-terrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA) agent, your goal is to investigate some curious goings-on within the fictional country of Kijuju in Africa.

Aided by one of the region's BSAA agents, Sheva Alomar, you find yourself on a hunting mission in search of a biological arms dealer who has taken refuge in the region, only to find that Kijuju is suffering from a terrible - and familiar - viral strain which has mutated its inhabitants into horrifying and hostile creatures.

Taking up the roles of Redfield, it's in your hands to discover the secrets that rest beneath the surface of Kijuju's infection, bringing you closer to some familiar faces and ghosts of the past.

Evil has never looked so good

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition takes the core concepts of the acclaimed Resident Evil 4 on PlayStation 2 and slides them into a High Definition frame, with striking visuals and presentation to immerse you in its setting. Scenic variation comes in the shape of shanty towns, dusky plains, underground temples, hidden laboratories and more, each with their own atmosphere and challenges - whether it's a large mass of vicious attacking Majini, deadly mutated creatures or brain-teasing puzzles.

The action throws you into a number of different scenarios, where you're exploring on foot and blasting away for survival, gunning down motorcycling hostiles from a jeep or escaping death traps by using your PlayStation Move motion controller in a series of heart-stopping interactive movie style sequences.

And you're not alone in these adventures, either. With the choice of a friend or computer-controlled partner, Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition is about tackling terror side by side, brilliantly opening up whole new levels of gameplay experiences for the series.

    Horrifying extras

Resident Evil fans are in for a real treat with the Gold Edition. Not only does it include the original Resident Evil 5 game, you also get two brand new playable missions that were previously available to download from PlayStation Store. These new scenarios include Lost In Nightmares, where you get the chance to play through the events of Spencer Estate, a mission that Chris Redfield alludes to during the story of Resident Evil 5.

The second mission, Desperate Escape, sees you take on the role of series stalwart Jill Valentine in a terrifying bid to escape the clutches of true horror. Other goodies available only in the Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition include two costume packs and the famous Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode, where you and up to three of your friends can battle hideous creatures or each other via PlayStation Network.

    Move with evil

The biggest addition to Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition is that the game is now entirely playable with PlayStation Move. Now, you can experience Resident Evil in a whole new way using the PlayStation Move motion controller and navigation controller. You can play the game using the motion controller and the DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller too. With these new controls you now aim using the motion controller and explore the environments using the navigation controller or Wireless Controller.

You'll have to think faster now too: the tension is ramped up as you use PlayStation Move to aim for that all important kill shot when marauding enemies are closing in on you. Plus, during some of the game's interactive cutscenes, you use PlayStation Move to dodge giant crocodiles, hang on to a truck as it speeds through dusty African plains and leap out of the way of a hulking monster's boulder-sized fists as it tries to pound you.

Think you have the nerve? Grab your PlayStation Move motion controller and take on evil now!

    One becomes two, in five

Co-operative play in Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition brings a range of entertainment to Capcom's stylish thriller. You and a partner share resources, items, ammunition and weapons, while acting as a team in each level. Some sections require both of you to venture down separate paths to meet back up at a later point, while other parts grant you the freedom to perform independent objectives towards a common goal - survival.

In battle you can also execute tag team style melee moves, where one attack leads into another, giving your chosen target no time to recover - the perfect way to emphasize the co-operative play in this latest instalment of the series.

Never fear if you don't have anyone to team up with, your computer-controlled partner is totally equipped to help out in attacking and protecting you from danger.
