E3 2019

Catch up on some of the biggest new trailers and announcements from E3 2019.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

The original Final Fantasy VII inspired a whole generation of gamers when it exploded onto the original PlayStation. Square Enix's breathtaking remake is now set to do the same when it arrives on 3rd March 2020.

Check out the latest trailer for a closer look at its new combat mechanics, stunning visuals, new in-game locations and the reveal of one particular character fans have been dying to get a glimpse of, Tifa Lockheart.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Ubisoft lifts the lid on the next chapter in its future-tech open-world series, with Watch Dogs: Legion transfering the action to a near-future London where civil unrest has left the capital on the brink of chaos.

As part of anti-authoritarian resistance group, DEDSEC, you'll need to recruit ordinary members of the public to help topple an increasingly unjust establishment. The twist? You can recruit and play as anyone. Every passer-by offers their own special traits - from technical wizardry to hand-to-hand combat chops - making them potentially invaluable to your organisation.

Choose carefully and retake the city for the people when Watch Dogs: Legion launches in March 2020.

Gods & Monsters

From the creators of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Gods & Monsters is a fantastical new action adventure game for PS4, due to launch 25th February 2020.

The gods of Greek mythology are in danger. Dethroned by the vicious monster Typhon and cast down from Mt. Olympus, they are looking for someone to restore their powers. That someone is you.

Playing as forgotten hero Fenyx, take down Typhon and his army of gorgons, harpies, cyclopes and other mythical beasts, save the Greek pantheon, and etch your epic journey into the tales of legend!

Elden Ring

Unparalleled adventure awaits in an epic new open-world action RPG from Dark Souls/Bloodborne creator FromSoftware and Game of Thrones author George R R Martin. Explore an extraordinary fantasy world filled with peril and wonder, in the largest game FromSoftware has ever created.

With director Hidetaka Miyazaki at the helm, expect deep combat, rich lore, a wealth of character customisation options, and plenty of FromSoftware’s signature horrifying boss battles.

The unstoppable football franchise returns on 27th September – and this year it's breaking new ground with Volta Football, an all-new mode that takes the world’s game out of the stadiums and back to the streets.

Players are fully customisable ahead of three, four or five aside matches, in a new story mode, online leagues and the squad-building Volta World mode. Of course, the big-match gameplay you’d expect from FIFA is also back with enhanced realism from the Football Intelligence gameplay system.

Expect more details in the coming months – for now, pre-orders are open at PlayStation Store with a bunch of exclusive content when you buy.

Cyberpunk 2077

Action RPG veterans CD Projekt Red were on site to throw more light on their highly-anticipated open-world saga. Set in a futuristic America, Cyberpunk 2077 transports players to the gritty streets of Night City where crime, violence and body augmentation are a way of life.

Not only did the team have an action-packed new trailer to share with the world, it also had a couple of big announcements. First up, Hollywood royalty Keanu Reeves has joined the cast, and secondly, we now have a release date: 16th April 2020.

DOOM Eternal

DOOM Eternal’s E3 2019 trailer begins exactly as a DOOM video should; with a demon being cut vertically in half from head to chest with a chainsaw, sending viscera flying, before being kicked off the end of the spinning blade.

Announcing that DOOM is back in all its brutal, gory glory, this story trailer sets up another descent into hell, and hints at new weapons, special abilities, traps and boss fights that await when DOOM Eternal launches on PS4 on 22nd November this year.

Pre-order either the standard of deluxe edition now to get your hands on some devilish bonus content.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ubisoft used this year’s E3 to put the spotlight on its plans for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, debuting two new trailers.

The first focused on the game's antagonists, the Wolves, with actor Jon Bernthal addressing his army of ex-Ghosts. The second put the spotlight on the Ghosts themselves, highlighting some of the tactics, weapons and gadgets you’ll use against your enemy.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint launches on 5th September. Get ready to deploy by pre-ordering at PlayStation Store now.

The Outer Worlds

Starships, space colonies, monsters and fancy guns - just a few of the things Obsidian’s E3 2019 trailer showed off for its upcoming sci-fi RPG, coming to PS4 on 25th October 2019.

Set on a colony named Halcyon under strict rule by malevolent corporations, The Outer Worlds tasks you with exploring the galaxy, leading a crew of unique companions, and build your own character, including optional flaws – because no one is perfect! The person you become will determine the fate of everyone in Halcyon, whether you choose to be a hero or a villain…

The Outer Worlds is available for pre-order on PlayStation Store now.

Shenmue 3

This year’s E3 gave us a closer look at the long-awaited new entry in the groundbreaking open-world saga, coming to PS4 on 19th November 2019.

The new trailer reunites us with Ryo Hazuki as he’s being lectured by his master about how his kung fu isn’t strong enough. Explore rural China, train as a martial artist and immerse yourself in a gripping tale of a teenager trying to get justice for his father’s death.

Pre-order standard or Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation Store to get your hands on a few bonuses, including avatars, technique scrolls, outfits and more.

Sniper Elite VR

The hit WWII shooter series has set its sights on PS VR, with a brand new adventure set prior to the events of Sniper Elite 4. In Sniper Elite VR you’ll play as an Italian resistance fighter on a mission to end the U-boat menace plaguing the Mediterranean.

Developed from scratch specifically for virtual reality, expect a first-person viewpoint and a variety of motion controls (including support for Aim and Move controls), putting you right in the shoes of a WWII sharpshooter.

Outriders is a brand new drop-in-drop-out co-op shooter for one to three players from publisher Square-Enix, set in a dark and desperate sci-fi universe.

Developed by Bulletstorm creator People Can Fly, Outriders pulls on the studio’s years of experience in the FPS genre, for its most ambitious project to date. Stay tuned for a closer look at this dark, brutal world - and the Outriders’ journey through it - soon.
