PS4: How to cancel a pre-order

Find out how and when you can cancel an unwanted pre-order.

If you have paid for pre-ordered content on PlayStation Store but have changed your mind about the purchase — you can request a refund. PlayStation Store refunds can be issued for pre-ordered content, as long as the request is made before the release date, or within 14 days of purchase, and the content has not started to download or stream.

Please note, if you have started to download the main part of the order, you will not be able to request a refund.

Please be aware that downloads will happen automatically if Automatic Downloads are enabled in your system settings. To turn off Automatic Downloads, head to [Settings] > [System] > [Automatic Downloads] and untick the check box next to “Application Update Files”.

How long do I have to cancel my order?

  • I paid for content more than 14 days before the main product release date.
You can cancel any time up to the release date if you have not started to download the main part of the pre-order content (including pre-loading before release).

  • I paid 14 days (or less) before the main product release date.
You can cancel up to 14 days after placing the pre-order if you have not started to download the main part of the pre-order content (including pre-loading before release).

If you have not started to download the main product and your pre-order included immediately-accessible extra content, this extra content will stop working if you cancel your pre-order and you will receive a refund to your wallet. If no additional content was included, you will receive a refund to the original payment method where possible*.

To cancel a pre-order, please fill in this form.

*We are unable to do this for certain payment methods. In those cases, the refund will be sent to your wallet.
