To use this payment method your mobile account must be with one of the following network providers:

Please note:

  • Your mobile SIM card and your PlayStation Network account must be registered in the same country to add funds to your wallet via SMS.
  • The payment will be deducted either from your Pay as you go account or your next phone bill.
  • Although the amount you can top up each day is limited to £50.00, your network provider may also impose spending limits. These limits cannot be changed for individual customers.

If you are making a purchase, select ‘Add Funds’ on the Purchase Confirmation screen.

  3. Choose the amount you would like to top up and select ‘Continue’. Please note that this screen opens via internet browser rather than in PlayStation Store.
  4. Carefully enter your mobile phone number and select ‘Continue'.
  5. You should see a message confirming that you have been sent a text.
  6. Once you have received the text and you have replied, you will see another message confirming that we have received your text and asking for final purchase confirmation.

Messages are charged at your standard rate.

Having mobile top-up issues?

  • This payment option is only available in the following countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. If your account was created in any other country you will not be able to use mobile top ups.
  • Your PSN account and mobile phone account must be registered in the same country. If they are not, mobile top ups will fail.
  • Sign out of Account Management or exit PlayStation Store and sign back in to refresh your wallet.
  • If you replied to the text with 'y', 'yes', 'Y' or 'YES' the payment should have been successful. Any other responses to the top-up text will cause the payment to fail.
  • If you reply more than 15 minutes after the top-up text was sent, the payment will be refused.
  • You will be charged the standard network rate for the text you send in reply. If you have a pre-paid mobile and the value of the top up and the price of the text add up to more than your available mobile credit, the payment will be refused.
  • You can only top up a maximum of £50 per 24-hour period. If you try to top up more, the payment will be refused.
