Set up ‘Require Password at Checkout’ on PlayStation™ Store

Find out how to activate password protection for PlayStation Store purchases.

Why enable 'Require Password at Checkout' on PlayStation Store?

Activating 'Require Password at Checkout' adds an extra layer of security to prevent others from making PlayStation Store purchases from your account. Please note:

  • The setting applies to all devices used to access PlayStation Store.
  • If you have children, do not let them use your account and log out from your PlayStation® system after each use. Create separate accounts for each child to manage whether they can purchase from PlayStation Store and how much they can spend through Family Management settings.
