The Last of Us Part II support on PlayStation®4

Find out about the different versions of The Last of Us Part II on PS4, how to access extra content for the game and how to set up a remote download from PlayStation™Store.

Access The Last of Us Part II pre-order content

For disc versions, please redeem the pre-order bonus voucher before starting the game. After selecting 'New Game' select 'Apply Preorder Bonus' from the options at the top of the screen.

  • Crafting Manual for Recipes and Upgrades

If you have applied the preorder bonus, you can access the Crafting skill tree in ‘Waking Up’ — the first chapter after the game’s prologue. After retrieving Ellie’s backpack, press the touch pad button, then press R1 to select the Player Upgrades tab and select the Crafting skill tree.

  • Ammo capacity upgrade to Ellie’s pistol

The Pistol ammo capacity upgrade can first be seen in the chapter 'Patrol'. With the upgrade enabled, Ellie’s pistol will have a 10-round capacity rather than the default six rounds.

  • PSN Avatar for PS4 of Ellie’s tattoo

Once you have applied the preorder bonus, go to [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Profile] > [Avatar].

Please note that DLC content is locked to the PlayStation Store of an account, meaning your disc region must match your PlayStation Store region to access DLC.

Clear storage space to install The Last of Us Part II

When downloading The Last of Us Part II from PS Store, or a patch for the disc version of the game, it may be necessary to clear some space on your PS4 system storage. If you would like to increase your storage capacity, you can use an external HDD or upgrade the internal storage of your PS4 system.

Accessibility settings

The Last of Us Part II features more than 60 accessibility settings, with expanded options focused on fine-motor and hearing, as well as completely new features that benefit low-vision and blind players. These settings can be accessed from the Main Menu and at any time during gameplay:

  • The Accessibility options can be found in-game by selecting [Options] > [Accessibility]. Accessibility features that are enabled are marked by a dot next to the feature.

Each feature can be customised to your needs or preference, but you can also select from three preconfigured presets that benefit vision, hearing, and fine-motor accessibility.

  • To access the Accessibility presets, select [Options] > [Accessibility] and press the square button.

New Game Plus

Upon completion of The Last of Us Part II’s story, you will have an opportunity to replay the game with previously unlocked character and weapon upgrades intact. While character upgrades will be applied immediately, your weapons will need to be acquired through the intended progression of the story. However, all previously equipped upgrades will be present when you gain access to each weapon.
