From what I'm reading, it seems to be a known issue that Mojang are aware of.

Are you able to unlink it from the Microsoft account management site? https://account.microsoft.com/

One thing from the Mincraft FAQ - Please note that once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation™ Network account, it cannot be unlinked without loss of access to entitlements and Minecoins on other platforms.

You can redeem the code via console, mobile app or PC. Try one of the others and see if it works.

Yes. PlayStation Plus is required for multiplayer. Whether that's with PS4 players or cross platform. A Microsoft account is also required for cross play (just the free account, not a Gold sibscription).

Yeah from what I've read, MS account is only required for cross play. If you're playing with other PS4 users then you don't need the MS account. 

I've also never played it, so no comment from me. Think Ross has played it a bit (but he won't be back around here until Monday). One of the Dutch MVP's seems to play it a bit and knows a bit about it so shared the link with him to see his thoughts :)
