NO ONE’S AGE CAN BE CHANGED!

How is this thread still a thing?

There is a reason for age restriction on Videogames. I'm sure your probably aware of the content you're allowing your son to access, graphic violence, sex, horror, drug use etc, but that's one issue. If you want to let your son play online in an 18 rated game he will be mixing with people 18 who can be quite toxic towards other people online.

I'm sure you know all this and I'm not trying to lecture you.

You cannot change DOB on Accounts.

If you want him to play these Adult games, then you will have to make an Account with a False DOB.   It's also against Terms of Service, so if you do, bare in mind that the Account could be banned and that will include all the games that are purchased with it.   It will be all gone.

11 maybe a little too young for these games, just my opinion.

You are the Parent, so the decisions are down to you.

" 18 who can be quite toxic towards other people online "

Actually, it is probably the one's under 18 that are more Toxic to be fair.

The language of the youngster in lobbies is pretty dismal.

Go to the Parent Account, then go to Settings, then go to Parental Controls, then go to Sub Account Management, click on your child's Sub Account, click on Parental Controls, then click, Allow, Allow, Off, (set money to whatever you want) click Confirm. Then go back to your child's sub account.
Go to Parental Controls on your child's Sub Account, put in your password, click on Games, switch your ratings to Allow.
They should be able to play any game online now.
Doing this worked for my child's sub account.

What game? My brother got ARK for his B-day and he cant play with his friends at all because of the restrictions put on... I went to the parental controls and allowed everything and he still can't. I am so mad about this.

The Game has a rating of 16

You are not saying how old he is..  so, there is little you can do until he reaches the required age.

You could break the Terms & Conditions and make a new Account for him to play with...  You would need to make a Master Account with a DOB of the required age rating to play.  You would also be giving Sony false information, so they would have the right to Ban the account if they found out.

I had this problem with my brother, he is 11 and can't play any games online it's because you need a full account not a sub account(once they turn 13)

That's because you can't change the age..... it's NOT possible.

My lad is 10 and i want hime to play Overwatch - a 12.

Obviously i have disabled friend requests and provatres messaging etc, but even if set age restrictions to 15 (which is itself contradicting sony's  age rules) it won't let him sign in.

    Will try making  new account.

Been PS fan since the PS1 - but their control system are messy as hell.

That is because those id***tsfrom psn decided to allow you to only play the games that are for your age and not the games that are allowed by parental control because they are s***t and want you to get your own account (when you get 18) so you won't be able to share games with your master account and you have to buy them by your own. I'm saying that because I bought Battlefront 2 and the f******* age restrictions didn't allowed me to play

Hi there, I am in the parent account but I don't see settings or parental controls;and I don't see "sub Account" anywhere.  We just got the new PS4 and I am playing LBP3 with my sons and we cant get online because my son is under age 16 and I cant see where to change the DOB.  Are your instructions for the PS4?

Thank you for all of your help

I think the parental restrictions only work if the child is playing offline.  Once the child goes online PS takes over and doesn't let them play if they are not the required age - theoretically meaning if they get to age 17.5 they won't be able to play an 18 online

So if your wife wants to play online do you need to get 2 ps plus memberships. And somebody should sue psn for taking our parental rights away from us. it should be up to the parent on what there kids can or can't not do. I was trying to let my kid play need for speed and can't do it online this came has no inappropriate content.

Yes... other Accounts can play online on the same Console with 1 Plus Sub..

Set the Account that purchased the Plus Sub to Primary.

Settings... Account Management.... Activate as Primary

As for inappropriate content, that game has been graded by experts and has been given its Age Rating..   Sony have to obey these findings for online play.  Government Laws have to be obeyed...   If you have grief... it's the Government of your Country you must blame..  not Sony.

Not sure why I bothered to look where he was from.

Was pretty obvious by the "somebody should sue PSN" comment
