Why I can not buy Playstation plus with funds available

I bought the 20$ playstation card and activate it. Now I have 22$ in my PS wallet and I was trying to buy one month playstation + membership but I can't. It asks me to pay with credit card. Is it even possible to buy it with playstation wallet money or just with credit/debit card? Why is that so?

Thank you!!!

A debit or debit card must be registered with your PSN account if you wish to purchase PS+ due to the nature that the service has a rolling subscription similar to Netflix etc. Payment for PS+ will be taken from your PSN wallet first if it's in credit, the way around not having to register a debit or credit card is to purchase pre-paid PS+ in 3 months or 12 month subscription cards.

Yeah, but why can't I just buy PS+ 1 month membership using money I just transferred to my ps account?

Ordos alpha that still doesn’t explain why I can use my wallet that I already have money in to buy 3 month and 12 month but not 1 month it is obviously a bug

It's not a bug it just how it is you cannot buy a 1 month subscription without having a debit or credit card registered to your account, however if you do have a card registered and you do have money in your PSN wallet it will take that first before debiting your card.

A funding source MUST be on file for 30 day subs. There is no way around this.

I don't get why we need credit/debit or paypal for a subscription even when there's more than enough for next month, Xbox doesn't give you this hassle, Xbox just uses money in the Microsoft account and lets you go, Sony want people to give them important info, what about the people that don't have ANY of those options? Sony really screwing over its customers

Then buy a 3 month or 12 month sub. No funding source required.
