I have two ps4's. One in my son's bedroom. He has always played games on my log in. He doesn't really play games as such. He just messes about really,we have always played them together, but he goes on them more and more frequently as he gets older. All the saved games he messes about on are on my profile. So we can't have the machines on at the same time. If he turns the console on upstairs, it logs the one downstairs off.

I started a new game going on his log in, on one of his favourite games. So we could play separately. All the extra content that I had purchased for him wasn't accessible. Am I doing something wrong, or is that how it works? Because if that's correct, then I find that really absurd. Any info would be appreciated.

You have to put your account on his console and activate his console as your primary.

    Settings> Account Management> Activate PS4> Activate.

This will alow him to play your games from his own account.

    Hope this helps!

If the content you mention is DLC for games that you have downloaded and installed on your PS4, then it should be able to be used by other users on same console, but you may need to activate the PS4 as your primary.

Online games where you purchase content such as guns, skins, outfits, FIFA FUT packs, Fortnite V bucks, GTA Shark Cards etc will be linked to the account it's purchased on and not the console itself.

    Thanks for the input.

We don't play online. I am just a casual player, and my lad doesn't even bother doing missions or anything. He just explores open worlds doing his own thing. But he does a lot of it!

My account is on the ps4 in his bedroom. It used to be the only console we had so it was in the living room. I just recently (ish) bought the pro and made that the primary. What I found then was; as we don't have plus, and only play off line, when he played his games logged in as me upstairs, it doesn't link that to the user account. You have to mess about manually moving saves around on a memory stick between machines. I found that a bit stupid too.

But thanks for the tip, I will see if that works. I have always championed the Sony console.

I have got access to the games in the library by making the old Ps4 in my son's bedroom the primary console. So thanks for that info.

Using his user profile, the console isn't classed as linked to the PlayStation network. It won't let me log in using my account, as that is linked to my profile. On minecraft, that wasn't a problem. All the skins and world textures that I purchased seemed to be there.

On a ubisoft game however, the purchased packs required you to be logged in. I am guessing creating his own network log in won't work? I will try it for nothing.

Cheers again for both your help.
