Ps Plus cloud storage problem

Created 12/06/2019

This cloud storage system is broken. Lets say I sell a game a year ago, but keep the save data in ps plus cloud in case I buy the game back. Now, when I buy the game back and install it again. It updates the game to its latest patch, but not the saved data. They are not compatible anymore! I lost all my progress in mudrunner and another game because of this.

There are a few reasons for this :-

It could be a different version of the game - standard version vs got  version, for example.

It could be the long running incompatibility issue between disk and digital  versions of a game. That's down to the publisher.

It could be your latest version is a disk meant for a different country.

So, not a fault with cloud storage as such, rather publishers messing things up/ retailers selling incorrect versions.

Thanks hgwells. Now, I wrote the topic in a way that it would maybe get more attention.

I´ll have to take these facts in consideration before buying a game back.
