family members not allowed to play overwatch

Hi

I have a 12 year old family member that is not allowed to access the network features of overwatch, due to age restrictions. NP-31735-9 PS4 Error Code.

She is set up as 12 on the family management, and the game seems to be rated for 12+, so not sure why it isnt working?

Any help?

I believe online servers are set to 18+. The family management age restrictions will not change this, as that only applies to offline play.

    No

All games have there own AGE limit for titles online play, if the developer sets it for 18 then only 18 and over can play. If the developer set it for ages of 3 then any one over the age of 3 can play online for that title servers...

Each and every PS4 online title has an age restriction set by the publisher...

Blizzard can set the age limit for online to 18 on there online only title..

Thanks for that. So Overwatch is set at 18+ for online play? Does it say that on the box somewhere?

What about for example Fortnight, what is the age limit on that for online play?

    Cheers

Parental controls are for OFFLINE only. Online play in Europe is age restricted due to PEGI being legally enforced in certain EU countries, the UK being one of them. SIEE is based in the UK, so to save on red tape the age restriction is most likely enforced in all markets they cover due to the legal ramifications. Minimum age requirements are set by the developer and/or publisher for online play. In this instance that would be Activision Blizzard, who in turn require the creation of a Battle.net account to play Overwatch online. Users must be 13+ to create a Battle.net account. Plus, the PEGI rating on the box is for overall core content of the game, NOT the online content.
