    Demon days

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus sets you down in dazzling contemporary Tokyo in the guise of the Dragon Ninja, Ryu Hayabusa.

A martial arts expert with a talent for both hand-to-hand combat and stealth assassination, Ryu has sworn to rid the world of the ruthless Black Spider ninja clan. Unfortunately, his enemies won’t go down without a fight.

The reckless Black Spiders are prepared to summon a range of ruthless demons to help them succeed – so when Ryu sets out to rescue kidnapped CIA agent Sonia, he soon finds himself facing off against all manner of bloodthirsty magical monsters, including the malevolent Elizébet, Queen of the Greater Fiends.

The pursuit of Elizébet leads Ryu across the globe as he battles the Black Spiders and their devilish allies in places as far-flung as Venice, New York City and South America. Eventually the chase takes him home, to Japan and the volcanic slopes of Mount Fuji, where the final onslaught awaits…

    Eastern promise

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is stunning to look at: as sleek and shiny as a katana blade, with all the mystery and majesty of some of the world’s most colourful cities providing the backdrop to a succession of large and action-packed stages.

A stirring score ups the intensity of the action at all the right moments, while the sound effects are as engrossing as you could hope – the perfect accompaniment to the fast, furious and incredibly fluid battles.

The overall effect is one of cinematic polish, a feeling only enhanced by a string of amazing cutscenes that wouldn’t look out of place in a classic anime movie. Slick, stylish and utterly immersive, the high-end production draws you deep into the heart of the story – and lets you experience the colourful, combat-fuelled life of a true ninja hero.

    Enter the dragon

The action in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus boils down to one thing: brutal, exhilarating, all-out combat.

Mastering Ryu’s range of martial arts moves is essential if you’re to obliterate the opposition, and the challenge doesn’t end there: a huge number of extreme weapons and handy items can be collected as you progress, plus Ninpo spells that can decimate even the most fearsome fiends, just to remind them who they’re dealing with.

As in all the best martial arts movies, the bad guys in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus come thick and fast, so it’s crucial to keep your senses sharp and your wits about you. And when you think you’ve truly earned the title Dragon Ninja, there are two alternative game modes to test your mettle.

Tag Missions see you team up with a computer-controlled ally to batter swarms of enemies together, while Ninja Races ensure high-octane carnage by setting you timed challenges. Both modes are sure to set the adrenaline pumping – and are perfect for grabbing a quick fix of martial arts mayhem when you’re on the go.
