Once upon a time…

Aurora is sick - stricken with a mysterious illness that has caused her to fall into a deep sleep. All seems lost for her father, the Duke.

That's where you come in. Stepping into the shoes of Aurora, you awake, not in your home of Austria, but the mythical world of Lemuria. What's more - the dark Queen, Umbra, has stolen the sun, moon and stars. Even stranger is that everyone speaks in rhyme... Can you recover these celestial bodies and find a way to get back to your father?

Pretty as a picture

Every detail of Child of Light is exquisite, with the watercolour art style astounding at every turn. The beautifully crafted world encourages you to explore every inch of each location - finding hidden chests and power-ups as you go.

Soon after the beginning of the game you'll come across the Lady of the Forest. To aid you on your journey, and to make getting about even easier, she uses magical stardust to create a pair of fairy wings for Aurora. From then on the ability to fly is all yours.

Travelling through Mathildis Forest to Cynbel Sea and beyond, Aurora's story is carefully handcrafted and packaged within the charming wrapper of rhyme. Each character you come across chats in intricate rhyming couplets that will have you smiling every time you meet someone new.

A firefly and a band of misfits

Soon after waking up in Lemuria, you'll come across a curious little firefly called Igniculus. Use your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller's right stick to move your plucky flying partner around the screen - on top of helping you to solve puzzles as you journey across Lemuria, Igniculus can shine extra bright during battle, dazzling enemies to slow their actions.

As you venture deeper into the world of Lemuria, you'll slowly begin to gather a colourful band of characters who will offer their help in battle in return for your aid through quests. Rubella, the lost circus trapeze artist (who struggles with rhyme), Robert the cunning mouse and Finn, the magic user from the village of Capilli, are just some of the fellow adventurers you'll meet along the way.

A role to play…

Switch between characters during combat to use the full range of abilities at the disposal of your party. In later battles you'll need to swap party members regularly to find enemy weaknesses to smash your foes and achieve victory. Using elemental weaknesses, such as casting water spells on enemies made of fire, is a great way to gain the upper hand early on.

Strengthening your characters is achieved through battling monsters to gain experience. As well as learning new abilities and increasing your defence, attack and magic by gaining levels, hidden gems - called Oculi - can be found throughout Lemuria and as a reward for beating certain enemies.

Equip these Oculi to power up your shields, boost your attack and grant other bonuses to your characters during combat. You can also combine Oculi to create more powerful gems and even brand new ones.
