I think the problem is because there is money attached to the review. They are not thinking about how a normal gamer would play the game.

They get a game a few days before release. Where they have to finish the game and write a review otherwise they don't get paid. Now they've probably sat and played the game an unhealthy amount like 12+ hours straight. They are tired and can't get past a certain bit so they blame some part of the game rather than themselves. 

Which is what they remember when they come to write a review.

Now you come along and play it in smaller chunks and don't find that same part as annoying.

You make tons of honey & pollinate the world for a start 😏

Plus you gain knowledge points to unlock skins and info knowledge in a journal, tag animals for info statues, n models, and collectables et . Plus you go up against tougher foes n ting.

Bar maybe the race difficultly issue. Its certainly not broken like most games released these days. 

I had a couple of issues trophy wise, and struggled to "scan" two particular animals just to finish off my journal for my own piece of mind. 

But for the trophies a quick bash into a second story has you sorted.

Certainly nothing game breaking! And esp compared to other muck that gets shipped at £40 - £50 from the big boys that doesn't receive such harsh scores 🤷‍♂️

And yeah wasps sux! Shame they haven't got sock wasps exclusive to the PS edition.

I haven't played it, but I certainly plan to sooner or later and your enthusiasm for the title has definitely increased my interest. 

I rarely put much value on reviews as they are by their very nature subjective and can be biased by many factors.

The only opinion that really  matters is your own. 

Play what you enjoy and stuff the naysayers and whingers.

They probably like wasps. Weirdos.

I don't have anything to add on the game specifically, I just wanted to show support by posting.

Game reviews can be funny things, especially with a potentially niche game like that. As long as you enjoyed it is all good, I guess that's why it's good metacritic has a user review section as well.
