[WEEKLY DISCUSSION #4] Your proudest Trophy achievement?

Created 02/09/2019
9 Replies

Hello!

Welcome to the 4th (slightly delayed) weekly discussion. This week is ALL about trophies.

  • What's your proudest trophy achievement?
  • Do you consider yourself a trophy hunter? And if so, do you ever play games just for trophy collecting?
  • What's the most difficult trophy you've ever achieved or the one you've spent the longest on?

Sound off in the comments. (it won't give you a trophy though, sorry)

Proudest trophy - Without putting a lot of thought into it' Detroit: Become Human platinum.  It's an easy one, but such a great game that a lot would not have bothered with as it requires many playthroughs. But such a great story, I was more than happy to do it (,even had an extra playyhrough or 2 after getting the platinum just because I enjoy the game so much).

Trophy hunter - I dont consider myself to be a "trophy hunter". Sure, if you ask some regulars here (@TheStill) they'll say i like the cheap dirty plat . Which i admit, may be true. I do buy them a bit for the plat. But i don't not play a game because the plat is too hard. I feel "trophy hunters" just play the easy plats (,at least on the account they are known for).

Most difficult? Not sure. Most amount of time? Either Yakuza 6 or Ashes Cricket.  I'd say Yakuza as they take 100+ hours for the plat.

Proudest? hmm that's a hard one. I would probably have to say the first inFamous all those years ago. Great game, and a real sense of achievement playing through it twice to gain full positive and full negative karma, with the latter being on hard difficulty for the nice shiny plat

A trophy hunter? not really, more of a platinum hunter, hence all the dirty plats. I love platformers and hack 'n slash type games, but there's just not enough around. Having said that though, Darksiders 3 is a plus freebie this month so I'll be straight into that. I did go through a stage over the last 12 months though as I could see my trophy tally inching closer to the big 10k mark, so I pumped out heaps of easy plats and games that were generally easy to get allot of trophies

Most difficult/longest? maybe not difficult as such, but certainly lucky, or just a downright fluke is the "flappy goat" trophy on Goat Sim. I tried hundreds of times over a week, as various hours of the day to get that. Damn goats lol

I don't really care about trophies, although it nice when you get that little ping.

I had a brief instance of thinking I might like to chase them, I was playing csi: fatal conspiracy (I know, I liked it!) and it occured to me I only needed 2 more for the plat so I started working on it. One of them involved not making a single error in a case, accidently click something wrong it a puzzle? that's it have to start the case again. I went through one about 4 or 5 times (they are probably 1hr maybe longer) and I suddenly thought "what the hell am I doing, this isn't fun" and stopped.

I do like when one unexpectedly pops up and makes me laugh. A bit dark but when "too much salt will kill you" in the walking dead season one I laughed a lot.

Or when I do stupid stuff because I wondered what what happened and little thing pops up calling me an idiot I laugh, like it portal 2 when wheatley tells you to jump in a pit and kill youself and you do.

I have 1 platinum trophy, for bloodborne. Those chalice dungeons were horrendous in places.

My Name is Mayo platinum closely followed by Orc Slayer platinum. 🤣

In all seriousness I will need to have a good think with over 10,000 trophies earned from over 10 and half years since trophies were introduced retroactively to early games such as Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Super Stardust HD,GTA IV and Burnout Paradise then made mandatory in January 2009.

the proudest ones are probably platinums, as they cover other tough/lengthy ones to get to them i guess hehe. going through Dead Space 3 a few times, playing different ways and surviving is up there. Crysis 2 seemed long and hard early on, and BO3 aswell.

dont really boost many trophies in general, so any hard or time consuming ones that were on the multiplayer side of games im kinda proud of too.

easier to name the ones most ashamed of while going for trophies lol. Terminator, a Toy Story one (thanks Rossy), some Telltales ones and probably others xD.

My proudest trophy achievement is a tie between my first Platinum (Midnight Club: Los Angeles) and Grand Theft Auto IV.

When I first got my PS3 and Midnight Club LA was one of the first games I got on the system alongside GTA IV. I learnt about Playstationtrophies.org and had a great time there discussing trophies and working together on online trophies.

My story with Midnight Club LA that I had only two trophies left which was 'Turn in the Work' which simply asks you to design a car and upload it to Rate my Ride online. I had very bad internet that I couldn't even upload thr design online and it always fails when I try to do that so I had to borrow someones internet to do that. While the other offline trophy I could do at any time. So yeah my first Platinum always reminds me of that.

Grand Theft Auto IV is another long story. So I played and enjoyed the game and after finishing it I went for the trophies, there is a trophy for winning literally everything in online, and after long days trying them myself and doing them with somone it appears to be the AWP trophy is glitched. So I stopped going for the Platinum as I was demotivated to do so. 2014 came and servers were shut down due to GameSpy shutting down. After a while the servers where back online and I decided to go for it again and I got it finally. The gap between my first trophy in GTA IV and the Platinum is 6 years and 2 months. Which is also the answer for the third question.

I used to be a trophy hunter, now I just play games without looking at the trophies until I finish the game, then I decide if there are few left to go for the Platinum. But I still enjoy the soubd of every trophy.

MY PROUDEST PLATINUM THAT'S A TOUGH ONE I HAVE A FEW IN MIND BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE THAT WOULD BE METAL GEAR SOLID 4.

PROPABLY YES, I FIND MY SELF CARING MORE FOR TROPHIES THE LAST FEW YEARS, SOME TROPHIES GIVE YOU SOME EXTRA AND DIFFERENT OPTIONS ON HOW TO PLAY THE GAME. NO I DON'T PLAY OR BUY GAMES FOR TROPHIES, I COLLECT TROPHIES FOR GAMES I LIKE AND WANT TO PLAY BUT NOT IN A WAY THAT WILL AFFECT MY EXPERIENCE.

MY LONGEST PLATINUM BY PLAYING AND ENJOYING THE GAME AND NOT RUSSING IT I THINK IT MUST BE SKYRIM I AM ON MY WAY TO GET IT A SECOND TIME FOR PS4 AND MY MOST DIFFICULT I THINK METAL GEAR SOLID 4.

I currently play Days Gone and trophies are not difficult even at the survival level, I look forward to the rest of the additions.
