Find out how to pair and charge your PlayStation VR2 Sense™ controllers on PlayStation®5 consoles.

How to pair your PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers

If it’s your first time using your PS VR2 Sense controllers, you need to pair them with your PS5™ console. Pair both the left and right controllers. Please note that if your controller's battery is low, you'll need to charge both the left and right controllers after pairing.

  1. Turn on your PS5 console.
  2. Connect one of your PS VR2 Sense controllers to your PS5 console using the included USB cable.
  3. Press the PS button on your controller.
The controller is assigned to the user who is currently logged in on your PS5 console.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to pair the other controller.
  • Remove the USB cable when using your PS VR2 Sense controller.

  • Your PS VR2 Sense controller can pair with only one PS5 console at a time. When you want to use your controller on another console, you need to pair it with that console.

How to change button assignments for PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers

  2. Select Controllers > Custom Button Assignments for PS VR2 Sense Controllers.
  3. Turn on Enable Custom Button Assignments, and then select Customize Button Assignments.
  4. Select the button you want to change, and then select a new function for that button.
  5. Select Apply.
  • Only the user your PS VR2 is assigned to can change these settings.
  • When you turn on Switch the Left and Right Sticks, the functions of the left and right sticks switch with each other.

How to charge your PlayStation VR2 Sense controller

While your PS5 console is on, connect your PS VR2 Sense controller using the included USB cable to the console to start charging. While charging, your controller's status indicator slowly blinks white. When charging is complete, the status indicator turns off and so does the controller.

  • Charge both the left and right controllers separately.
  • You can check your controller's battery level from Accessories in the control center.
  • You can't use your PS VR2 Sense controller while it's charging.
  • You can use a PlayStation VR2 Sense™ controller charging station (CAU-ZSS series, sold separately) to charge your controllers.

Configure your Power Saving settings to charge your controller while your PS5 console is in rest mode:

  1. Go to Settings System Power Saving.
  2. Select Features Available in Rest Mode, and set Supply Power to USB Ports to Always or 3 Hours.
