How to set up HDR on PlayStation 4

How to enable HDR on PlayStation 4

  1. Check the owner’s manual for your TV to find which HDMI port supports HDR content.
  2. Access the TV settings and make sure that the TV’s HDMI ports are set to enable HDR content. TV manufacturers refer to HDR in a number of different ways:

HDR, Wide Colour Mode, HDMI Enhanced Mode, UHD Colour Mode, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD deep colour.

  1. Using a Premium HDMI cable, connect the PS4 to the correct HDMI port. Please note, the PS4 must be connected directly to the TV to output HDR. It can’t be connected to a receiver or switch box.
  2. On your PS4 go to [Settings] > [Sound and Screen] > [Video Output Settings].
  3. In the Video Output Settings menu, set the HDR and Deep Colour output settings to Automatic.
  4. For Video Streaming Applications, check the content is HDR enabled. Most applications will have an indicator icon.
