How to request a refund on a PlayStation Store purchase

If you have bought something on PlayStation Store but have changed your mind about the purchase, you may be able to request a refund to your PSN wallet.

To find out more, including how to make a refund request, please select the type of content you have purchased below.

If you prefer, you can read the full PlayStation Store cancellation policy.

Full games, downloadable content, themes, avatars and season passes fall under this category.

After purchasing this type of content through PlayStation Store, you have 14 days* from purchase to request a refund to your PSN wallet. If you have started to download or stream the purchased content you will not be eligible for a refund unless the content is faulty.

To request a refund for this type of content, please fill in a refund request form.

For full terms and conditions, please visit the PlayStation Store cancellation policy.

*The 14-day period applies to the time taken to submit the form. You won’t lose your eligibility if the 14-day period ends before you receive a response.

A subscription includes any purchase of a service with recurring fees from PlayStation Store, such as PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now or Spotify Premium on PlayStation Music.

After purchasing this type of content through PlayStation Store, you have 14 days* to request a refund to your PSN wallet. However, the refund amount will depend on how much you have used the service.

For example, if a player buys a PlayStation Plus 12-Month Membership and requests a refund seven days after the purchase date, the refund amount will be reduced to reflect any use of the subscription, such as playing online, downloading monthly games, using cloud storage etc.

Please be aware, any free trials will be included in the 14-day period.

If you would like to request a refund for a subscription, please fill in a refund request form.

For full terms and conditions, please visit the PlayStation Store cancellation policy.

Please note, if you purchase a subscription service from PlayStation Store, you are purchasing an ongoing subscription with recurring fees that will continue until cancelled. A subscription can be cancelled at any time — the service will then expire at the end of the current billing period. This will stop future payments of the subscription fees but you will not receive a refund for payments already made. Find out how to end a service subscription.

A pre-order refers to any purchase of digital content made from PlayStation Store before the content release date. There are two types of pre-order refund requests, depending on the date the content was pre-ordered.

Pre-order purchases made more than 14 days before the release date  Pre-order purchases made fewer than 14 days before the release date
For this type of pre-order purchase, you can request a refund at any time up until the release date of the content. For this type of pre-order purchase, you can request a refund up to 14 days* after the date of purchase.
