Find out how to set up and use PlayStation App to send messages over PlayStation™Network, make purchases from PlayStation™Store and start remote downloads to your PS5™ or PS4™ console.
Once you have installed and opened PlayStation App, sign in to your account. If you do not have an account visit How to create an account for PlayStation™Network.
Linking your PS5 or PS4 console to the PlayStation App will allow you to download games, manage PS5 console storage and launch PS5 and compatible PS4 titles from your mobile device.
Make sure you have signed in on the console with the same account that you are using on the PlayStation App. To link a PS4 console, make sure it is activated as your Primary PS4 console.
To start a remote download from PlayStation App, your linked PS5 or PS4 console must have Stay Connected to the Internet switched on.
If you are attempting to download a game and there is not enough storage space on your PS5 console, you will receive a notification.
Tap the storage notification to reveal storage management. At the top of the screen, you will see the amount of storage space required for your download.
Tap a game from the list and then Uninstall to clear space for your download.
Once a game has been downloaded to your console, you can start the game from your phone.
From the PlayStation App home screen, select Game Library > Purchased.
Tap the game and select Play Now. Your game will start, so all you have to do is pick up the controller and play.
Tap Messages and select Create new message. Select the player you would like to message, or select multiple players to create a Party.
You can send text, stickers, voice recordings, images and video through PlayStation App.
If a friend sends you a game invitation, select the invite notification and tap Launch to start the game on your PS5 console.
