What Netflix streaming features are included on PlayStation 4?

• Navigation:
  Browse rows of movie posters or select "Search" to find movies.

• Resolution:
  Stream movies and TV shows up to 1080p. Titles with an HD symbol will stream in high definition if your internet connection supports 5 Mbps or more. Learn how to check your connection speed here.

• Netflix 4K on PS4 Pro:
  You can stream Ultra HD* from Netflix to your PS4 Pro subject to a few requirements. You need:
  • A PS4 Pro system.
  • An Ultra HD or 4K TV.
  • An Ultra HD Netflix plan.
  • A steady internet connection of at least 25 Mbps.

• Subtitles & Alternate Audio:
  Select "Audio and Subtitles" to turn on subtitles or 5.1 Surround Sound if they are offered by the movie or TV show.

• 2nd Screen:

Note: Netflix supports streaming to the Sony PlayStation 4 in all regions where the Netflix service is available.  

Do I need a Sony Entertainment Network account to access Netflix?

Yes. Your SEN account must be signed in to the PlayStation Network in order to use Netflix. This means that Netflix will not be available on PlayStation 4 systems when the PlayStation Network is down for maintenance.

How can I download the Netflix app from my PlayStation 4 system?

Follow the steps below to download it from the PlayStation store.

1. Go to PlayStation Store.
2. Select Apps.
3. Select Netflix.
4. Select Download.

You can also download it directly from the content area of your home screen:

1. Navigate to the TV & Video icon and select the Netflix App. Note: You must be signed in to the PlayStation Network with your SEN account to access the TV & Video services.
2. Select "Download".
3. Once the installation is complete you will be able to use the App.

How can I sign in to Netflix on my PlayStation 4 system?

1. From the content area of your home screen, navigate to the TV & Video icon and select the Netflix app. Note: You must be signed in to the PlayStation Network with your SEN account to access the TV & Video services.
2. Select "Sign in" on the Netflix home screen.
3. Enter your Netflix email address and password. These might be different from your SEN account details.

I'm not a member of Netflix. Can I trial Netflix on my PlayStation 4 system?

If you aren’t a Netflix member, you can sign up for your Netflix free trial on your PlayStation 4. See Netflix Terms of Use for details. http://www.netflix.com

1. Launch the Netflix app on your PlayStation 4 system.
2. Select the "Start Your Free Month" icon. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Netflix account.

How can I sign out of my Netflix account on my PlayStation 4 system?

1. Launch the Netflix app.
2. Press the (Circle) button on the DualShock 4.
3. Select the gear icon.
4. Select Sign Out.
5. Select Yes.

How can I delete the Netflix app from my PlayStation 4 system?

1. Navigate to the TV & Video section and highlight the Netflix app.
2. Press the Options button on your DualShock 4 controller.
3. Select Delete.
4. Select OK.

Can I use PlayStation 4 Parental Controls to limit access to content?

The parental lock feature allows filtering of age-rated Blu-ray Disc content. Controls need to be set on the Netflix account page in order to filter age-rated Netflix content. The Parental Controls of the PlayStation 4 system will not affect Netflix Instant Watch titles.
