PlayStation Store billing for Spotify Premium FAQ

As of 31/03/2020 PlayStation Store will no longer host billing for Spotify. Please visit Spotify.com to renew your Premium benefits.

Why will I no longer be able to pay for my Spotify Premium via the PlayStation store?

PlayStation Store will no longer host billing for Spotify. Therefore, beginning on 31/03/2020, Spotify and PlayStation are referring all users to sign up via Spotify. This way, users can still enjoy the same integration features that are currently available for Spotify Premium with PlayStation Music.

Keep in mind that even though you will no longer be able to pay for Spotify Premium through PlayStation Store, no changes have been made to the integration features currently available for Spotify on PlayStation. You can continue to enjoy listening to your favourite music content from Spotify on PlayStation.

 
 

When will the possibility to pay via PlayStation Store end?

Starting March 31, 2020, you will no longer be able to pay for your Premium account via PlayStation Store.

What will happen once I can no longer pay for my Premium account via PlayStation Store?

You will automatically roll over to Spotify Free, even if you have turned on auto-renew in your PlayStation account settings. To regain your Premium benefits, pick a plan directly through Spotify at www.spotify.com/premium. There you’ll be prompted to log in and add your card details. 

Where can I find my billing date and last day of Spotify Premium in April via PlayStation Store? 

Sign in to account management. Select [Subscription] from the menu on the left of the screen to reveal the subscription expiry date. 

What does it mean to be on Spotify Free?

Spotify Free is the ad-supported version of Spotify. Spotify Premium allows you to play millions of songs ad-free and on-demand everywhere, and you can even listen offline on your mobile.

When will I be able to resubscribe to Premium through Spotify instead of the PlayStation Store? 

On the day after your last billing date in April, you can regain your Premium benefits directly through Spotify at www.spotify.com/premium. There you’ll be prompted to log in and add your card details. 

I can’t seem to log in with my Spotify details, what do I have to do to re-subscribe to Premium?

If you are experiencing login issues, please visit support.spotify.com. From here, you can navigate and find the best answer for any login issues. 

Why do I have to wait until a specific date to resubscribe?

The day after your next billing date in April, you will automatically roll over to Spotify Free. When on Free, you can resubscribe directly through Spotify at www.spotify.com/premium. There you’ll be prompted to log in and add your card details. 

 
 

When is my last day with Spotify Premium before switching over to Spotify Free?

You have access to Spotify Premium until your billing date in April. The day after the April billing date, your Spotify Premium subscription will expire and you will move over to Free.

Will there be any changes to the integration features that are currently available for Spotify on PlayStation Music?

No, you can continue to enjoy listening to your favourite audio content from Spotify on PlayStation Music

I have turned on an auto-renew in my PlayStation Store account settings, does that mean that I will still keep paying via Spotify?

No, unfortunately, your account will automatically transition to Spotify Free on the day after your April billing date.
