How to use a PlayStation Vita to reset a forgotten master account password

Follow these steps

  1. Connect to the internet and select [Settings] > [PlayStation Network] > [Sign In] (Sign out if you are automatically signed in) > [Forgot Your Password?].
  2. Enter your Sign-in ID (Email Address) and your date of birth and select 'Next'. You will be emailed a secure link which expires 24 hours after it is sent.
  3. Follow the secure link on a PC or mobile device connected to the internet and fill in the requested information. If the link expires follow steps 1 and 2 for it to be re-sent.
  4. You will be forwarded to a page where you will be asked to choose a new password and confirm it.
  5. You can now sign-in to your account using your new password.
