How to sign in and out of PlayStation Network

Learn how to sign out of all devices and sign in and out of PlayStation Network on PS4, PS3, PS Vita and PS TV.

Sign out of PlayStation Network on all devices

If you cannot access a PlayStation system, you can log out of all your devices by using account managment online: 

  1. Go to the PlayStation Account Management site and log in.
  2. From the left sidebar, select [Security]
  3. Select [Sign Out of All Devices] from the bottom of the section. 

Sign in to PSN on PS4

  1. Go to  [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Sign in].
  2. Enter your Sign-in ID (Email Address) and password > [Confirm].

If the PlayStation 4 system is not already activated as your Primary PS4, you will be asked if you want to activate it. Select ‘Yes’ or ‘Do Not Activate’.

Sign out of PSN on PS4

  1. Go to  [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Sign out].
  2. Press and hold the PS button to access the Quick Menu, then select [Power] > [Log out of PS4].

Please note that if you sign out of your local user account (step 2) without signing out of PlayStation Network (step 1), your local user account will automatically sign in to PlayStation Network when it is selected. 

  • PS3

    Sign in

    1. From the XMB Menu, select [Users] > [Local User]. 
    2. Go to [PlayStation Network] > [Sign in] and enter your Sign-in ID and password. 

    Sign out

    1. From the XMB Menu go to [PlayStation Network] > [Account Management] and press  (Triangle button). 
    2. Select [Sign out] from the options to the right of the screen and press  (X button).
  • PS Vita / TV

    Sign in

    1. From the Home screen go to  [Settings]> [Start].
    2. Go to  [PlayStation Network] > [Sign In] enter your Sign-In ID and password and tap [OK].

    Sign out

    1. From the Home screen go to  [Settings] > [Start].
    2. Go to  [PlayStation Network] > [Sign Out]. 

How do I sign in with 2-Step Verification?

With 2-Step Verification activated, signing in to your PlayStation system will require a password as well as a verification code sent to your mobile phone via text. To set up this security feature, please visit the 2-Step Verification guide.


Having issues signing in to PSN?

The first step is to check the PSN Status page. If any of the services appear orange or red, please wait for a green light before attempting to connect. If the services are functioning but you are unable to connect, please visit our Fix & Connect tool for troubleshooting steps.
