Recover a PSN account with 2SV backup codes

If you have 2-step verification (2SV) activated on your PSN account, it is very important that you save the 2SV backup codes in case you cannot access your phone.

Adding 2-Step Verification is a great way to keep your PlayStation Network (PSN) account secure but if you lose access to your phone, you will need a backup code to regain access.

You can only access these codes while signed in to PSN so it is advised that you record them when setting up 2SV:
  • Go to  [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Security] > [Two-Step Verification] > [Backup Codes].
  • Store the codes in a safe place.
  • These codes can be entered instead of a verification code when signing in to PSN. Each code can only be used once.
  • Sign in to Account Management > [Account] > [Security] and click the 2SV link at the bottom of the page.
  • You will be taken to a new page, click [Backup Codes] > [Print]. Store the codes in a safe place.
  • These codes can be entered instead of a verification code when signing in to PSN. Each code can only be used once.
  • Tap the  PS icon > [Settings] > [Account Information] >  [Menu icon] > [Security] > [Backup Codes].
  • You will be taken to a new page, click [Backup Codes] > [Print].
  • These codes can be entered instead of a verification code when signing in to PSN. Each code can only be used once.
