How to use PlayStation 3 to create a SEN account

This article explains how to set up a Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account on your PlayStation 3.

What is a SEN account?

You need a Sony Entertainment Network account to use PlayStation Network services. It's free to create an account and you do not need to provide any payment details. However, your wallet will require funding for some services.

If you already have an account and you have a new PlayStation system you do not need to create a new account, simply sign in to PlayStation Network with your existing account details.

Once your account has been created we advise that you find out more about how to manage account functions.

  • You can only create an account if you are over 18. If you are under 18, please ask your parent or guardian to set up a master account using the instructions shown below and add an associated sub account that you can use. Please click here for more information about sub accounts and how to add them to a master account.
  • When you create your account please make sure that you provide all requested information accurately in line with the the Community Code of Conduct to ensure you do not experience problems with password resets or purchases in future.
  • If you find that you cannot use your email address to create your account this might be because another user is using it. If this happens, please contact us for help.
  • Your Online ID cannot be changed once you have created it so take your time and be creative to find an Online ID you are happy with. Please see more information about Online IDs here if you need help.
