How to change Remote Play settings

Find out how to enable Remote Play on your PlayStation®5 console or PlayStation®4 console, and change Remote Play settings.

How to change Remote Play settings on PS5 consoles

  1. Go to the home screen and select Settings > System > Remote Play.
  2. Select from the following options:

Enable Remote Play
Turn this on before you start Remote Play. You need to turn this on only the first time you use Remote Play. 
You can adjust this setting for each user.

Pair Device
If you're trying to connect to your PS5® console from another device but your console can't be found, you'll need to manually pair your device. Connect your device and PS5 console to the same network, select Pair Device on your PS5 console, and then enter the number on your PS5 console screen into your device.

Connection History
You can view what devices you used to connect to your PS5 console for Remote Play.

Hide Remote Play Connection Status Pop-Up
If you turn this on, the pop-up notification "Remote Play connected." doesn't appear during gameplay when another user logs into your PS5 console.

  1. Go to Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings.
  2. Select from the following options:

Turn this on before you start Remote Play. You need to turn this on only the first time you use Remote Play. 

Add device
If you're trying to connect to your PS4 console from another device but your console can't be found, you'll need to manually register your device. Connect your device and PS4 console to the same network, select Add Device on your PS4 console, and then enter the number on your PS4 console screen into your device.

You can view what devices you used to connect to your PS4 console for Remote Play.
